While CBD is naturally occurring in both hemp and marijuana plants.  Bud-Pharms CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from hemp plants that contain less than 0.3% THC, in compliance with legal standards. All of Bud-D Pharms CBD products are tested by third-party labs to ensure they meet purity and potency standards. After the extraction, refining, and testing process, the CBD is a thick substance that is added to carrier oils, flavors, or scents to make it easier to take.

 How much CBD oil should I give my Pet?

This depends on the size of your pet, how new they are to CBD, and what their ailments are.   We recommend giving your dog 2mg-5mg of CBD per 25lbs of body weight daily. 5mg is equal to half a mL of our tinctures or water solubles, one of our hard dog treats, or 2 of our soft dog treats per day. We provide specific dosage recommendations that can be found on the product packaging.

CBD oil can also be given to pets as needed ahead of particularly stressful situations like the vet or the groomer.  CBD oil for dogs could also be a great option before fireworks or long car trips. As with all supplements, we recommend starting with a minimal dose and slowly building up as your dog’s body gets more and more used to the effects of CBD.

How do I use CBD oil for my dog?

The benefits of CBD for all pets as it will only help if your pet will cooperate in taking the CBD, which is easier said than done.  To make this process easier, we’ve provided a few easy methods for providing CBD oil to your pets.  We offer a tincture that can be dropped beneath the tongue for faster absorption, tasty flavored treats that they’ll be excited to shove down, and water-soluble oil that can be added to your water bowl or sprinkled over their food.

How can I tell if the CBD oil is working for my pet?

The onset timeline of CBD for pets will vary depending on the method of consumption and the size of your pet, as it can take longer for the effects to fully set in on a larger animal.  A water-soluble pet CBD Oil may set in very quickly, while a tincture can take a little more time, and a treat may take even longer to digest and absorb.

To know how your pet is doing, you can watch for a change in their behavior or demeanor. Are they calmer when they normally get anxious? Are they moving about more when their joints are normally tired out for the day?  No two pets will have the exact same reaction, so it is hard to give a definite answer of how to tell if the CBD oil is working in your pet.

Can I use human CBD oil on dogs?

The ingredients in CBD products for pets are the same as CBD products for humans, so your pets are still getting the most high-quality CBD.  The only difference is the flavor!  As such, we do not recommend giving our human CBD products to your pets (or taking CBD for dogs yourself).

It would be difficult to share your human CBD anyways because dogs and cats do not like to eat the flavors of our human products. Does CBD oil for pets contain THC?

CBD oil for dogs and cats can contain some THC.  THC is the cannabinoid known for its “high” or psychoactive effects. Since THC is a natural element that occurs in the hemp plant, our full spectrum CBD for pets contains <0.3% THC content in compliance with the legal limit and therefore produce absolutely no psychoactive effects. We also offer a lab tested and guaranteed THC-free version of some of our products.

Is CBD oil safe for dogs, cats and pets?

CBD oil for pets is widely considered safe by veterinarians, but the safety of the pet CBD is where quality comes into play.  Choosing a CBD product that has high quality standards, has been third-party tested, and is made without harsh additives or pesticides is the key.  You should also look for CBD pet products that are transparent, and consistent, about the THC levels found in their products.  Too much THC can be dangerous for some pets but legal CBD, taken in proper doses, does contain toxic levels for your pet.
